Prehnite is a calcium aluminum silicate with a Mohs hardness scale rating of 6 to 6.5.
Prehnite was discovered by mineral collector Hendrik von Prehn in South Africa. It can also be found in:

Prehnite can be mistaken for jade, serpentine, and other stones. It is a light yellow green but often has inclusions, or impurities, that can include titanium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, or water.
