Labradorite

Labradorite opens your intuition and allows you to see all sides of an issue, perhaps even in a new light.

About Labradorite

Labradorite is a 6 to 6.5 on the Mohs hardness scale. It is calcium aluminum silicate and is warming in nature.

Originally discovered in the Canadian province of Labrador, you can also find Labradorite in:

  • Findland
  • Greenland
  • Italy
  • Russia
  • Scandinavia

Labradorite is feldspar in a dark bluish grey that flashes with iridescent color from inside when turned in different directions. This color flash is known as the Shiller effect. It is caused by light reflecting off the layers within the mineral.

Labradorite color flash possibilities include:

  • Yellow
  • Green
  • Blue
  • Purple

Labradorite Energy

Labradorites flashes of internal color can remind you of your own internal brilliance. It also supports your ability to look at things from various angles to share or receive new information.

Consider the colors of the flash to determine with which energy center it will most resonate. Yellow or brown will connect best with your lower energy centers, Root, Sacral, and Solar Plexus. Green will connect and balance your Heart. Blue and Purple correspond with your upper energy centers, Throat, Brow, and Crown.

Break up stagnation, warm areas that hold cold, and reduce structural discomfort with Labradorite. It may help with blood stagnation, symptoms of Raynaud’s syndrome, and arthritic issues.

Labradorite can also invite warmth emotionally and to overcome shyness.
